Jodi Lynn Maxwell, owner and boudoir photographer at Le Boudoir Studio in Tempe, Arizona, was always self-conscious as a little girl about her freckles. She felt other women may relate, so she invited other freckled beauties to send in their favorite images, highlighting their freckles!! As Jodi says, “the premise behind the freckles contest was to remind women to celebrate their beauty just as they are! As women, we can be self-conscious about a lot of things, but we’re hoping that over time we can help women learn to embrace themselves in all of their unique beauty.” While Jodi received quite a few adorable submissions, this lovely lady won! Jodi describes her as “one of the most naturally beautiful women we’ve had the pleasure to work with.” And she is STUNNINGLY beautiful! Let’s enjoy what we have right???

What we love most about being a boudoir photographers is that we are all about reminding women to own and enjoy what they have right now. To focus on the positives, that all of us have a unique beauty and to embrace that. And to remember that we don’t have to let society’s crap version of what “beauty” is influence our perception of our own beauty. We can realign our thoughts with positivity and self affirmation. That we can decide and say what is beautiful and be a light that shines beauty everywhere, more in attitude and grace than looks. We speak on behalf of all boudoir photographers that we want to be a cheerleader the day of your shoot, making you feel comfortable in your own skin. And we want you to walk away from the experience with a new attitude and self appreciation. Maybe it’s time for you to Believe in Beauty….

What boudoir photographers all seem to have in common is the belief that every woman is uniquely beautiful and the desire to showcase each person’s uniqueness. It seems that most women tend to look more for perfection in themselves, rather than seeing what beauty others see in us. We think that a boudoir shoot is an amazing way to give yourself the opportunity to throw away the idea that perfection is necessary, and instead embrace all the positives. Strong healthy legs, smile lines from a life of laughter, strong shoulders from picking up kiddos, hips that definitely remind you you are all woman, and the list continues.

The perfect bra accessory…

You may have heard of it…. the bra sling! This little lingerie accessory is amazing. You wear it lower than the bra and it does serious wonders for cleavage. Especially for us ladies that aren’t as buxom as others…. this thing is magic! A must for any boudoir shoot. The one in this photo was originally purchased on Victoria’s Secret. However we haven’t seen them on their site for a while, but it looks like there is some sort of black market stock on Amazon. Click here to see if they have any left 😉

Time to make peace with your body…

A boudoir shoot isn’t just about gorgeous photos, it’s a decision to say I am beautiful as I am. A new chapter in your life that says…I love who I am… I AM BEAUTIFUL.

We see all kinds of woman walk through our door, but more often that not at the start of a shoot we see a gorgeous, sexy, smart, strong, healthy woman….. who swears she needs to lose ten-twenty lbs. Buzz kill ;( Which is never true. What we love about women who get up the courage to do a boudoir shoot is that somewhere during the process of the photo shoot you see their mentalities start to shift. They get into it, they are feeling it, the jitters are gone and what’s left is raw confidence. Then they see images and it’s like they now understand what everyone else sees when they are looking at them. They grab hold of that new vision and most often decide that THIS is the new vision that have of themselves. This is who they are. Not the false negative version they have been holding in their heads….. it’s a new chapter and we love it. As boudoir photographers we feel beyond blessed to be a part of it!
